Punjab CM to pay tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar at Jalandhar, funct

Administration along with MLA reviews arrangements, held review meeting

JALANDHAR: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will pay tributes to architect of Indian Constitution Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar at local Bootan Mandi, where a function will also be held to mark the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb.

In view of the Dr. BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary function, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Toor reviewed the preparations at the function site in Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Government Co-Education College, Bootan Mandi and Dr. BR Ambedkar Park, where CM Bhagwant will pay tributes to great social reformers. The MLA West Sheetal Angural also joined the Administration to review the ongoing preparations besides outlining the arrangements to be made to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar.

Ghanshyam Thori stated that the Chief Minister would paid glowing tributes to iconic jurist Dr. Ambedkar before his statue inside the Dr. BR Ambedkar Park followed by presiding over a function inside the Government Co-Education College, Bootan Mandi.

Meanwhile, in a review meeting the Deputy Commissioner directed the officials concerned to ensure the timely completion of all necessary arrangements and preparations. He emphasized that there should be proper cleanliness, beautification of both sites, uninterrupted power supply, adequate arrangement of potable water for public, seating arrangement, ambulance and fire brigade team. He also asked the Commissionerate Police for smooth traffic movement to facilitate the people. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Aashika Jain, ADC (G) Amarjit Bains, ADCP-2 HS Randhawa, SDM Balbir Raj and officers/officials of other departments were also present in the meeting.
